So many expectations from so many directions, you hardly know where your own needs fit in? Putting the needs of others first is noble and selfless however, if you are always putting the needs of others first and your needs last, it can lead to burnout.
Recently a dear friend of mine was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and told he only had a few weeks to live. I was shocked, but also impressed by how his voice seemed full of peace, strength and faith. It made me ask myself how I would respond in the same situation? How would you respond if you were given that kind of news?
Life can be complex, and never stands still. It can help to have someone to confide in, ask helpful questions to clarify your goals, and keep you accountable in achieving them.
